Being admitted again

Three weeks ago, Granny did a four day hospital stay for an infection in her face.  When her antibiotic was finished the infection resumed.  Slowly, her face began to swell and her cheeks became flushed.  So we followed up with an unscheduled doctor visit and more antibiotics, but it only slowed the infection down slightly.

Granny has a sick belly again for the past 2 days.  Her legs are restless, which is a sign that her magnesium is depleted.  The only symptom that has not returned yet is the vertigo.  The sickness, the magnesium, the vertigo, and dehydration all seem to be related.  It's a vicious cycle that Granny is in, and I spoke with the nurse to help me break the cycle.

I explained to the nurse that the cycle is noticeable 4 or 5 days in advance, but she still looks healthy, goes shopping with me, and plays with baby.  But it doesn't change that fact that it's coming back to very serious dehydration every time.  The nurse agreed that it seems to be repetitive and will relay the information to the doctors so that they can work on a better fix and possibly more in home care for staying hydrated.

Granny is expected to be in the hospital for 3 or 4 days.  I'll keep you posted.

Son-in-law Joe escorted Granny to the hospital and sent this picture not long after being admitted.  Below, Granny is getting her blood pressure checked.
